PRESS RELEASE: Imolede signs strategic partnership with Nectar Group

Imolede Chemicals FZE, a Nigerian-based Pan-African compound fertiliser producer, and Nectar Group have announced a strategic partnership for the provision of holistic logistics solutions for Imolede’s operations.

Imolede is developing a plant in Lagos, Nigeria that will produce steam-granulated single granule NPK fertiliser, meeting international standards and local requirements. The plant will have an initial capacity of 200,000MT per annum and operations are expected to commence Q4 2021.

As part of this partnerhship, Nectar will work with Imolede to:

  • Determine and develop the logistics requirements of the plant;
  • Design and lead the sourcing of quayside, handling and other equipment for the plant;
  • Provide operations and maintenance as the O&M contractor for the plant on the basis of a separate O&M contract to be agreed between the parties

Additionally, Nectar is also exploring an equity injection as part of Imolede’s Series – A financing round expected to commence Q1 2021.

Nectar Group operates and manages a number of Bulk Terminals around the globe as well as offering a range of value-added solutions for handling bulk cargoes. The Group handles over 10 million tonnes of cargo each year and now employs over 400 people in locations all around the world. Working with Imolede hand in hand to develop a new plant in Lagos allows the Group to provide new facilities in a strategic location.
