Expansion Continues to Take Shape.
Nectar Group is pleased to share that construction work is taking shape at the expansion programme at Nectar Sierra Leone Bulk Terminal (NSBT) in partnership with Eiffage Génie Civil and Beckett Rankine. The new 3rd berth at QEII terminal is a critical piece of infrastructure which will facilitate a larger-class of vessel size to call at the Freetown terminal, accommodating vessels of 225 meters and 13 meters draft.
The project is currently well underway and as of February of this year, the installation of tie rods has been completed. Demobilization of the marine spread commenced at the beginning of February, including contract confirmation for the dredger and reclaimer vessel. Ongoing works for the east revetment, floodwall, existing drainage, and mooring blocks continues.
The advanced construction programme is due for completion later this year.
