In July the container terminal set a new mark in monthly volumes handled of 31,767 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).
Nectar Group is pleased to share this exciting announcement for the Port of Beira with its new record of monthly volume handled. The new record set in July surpassed the previous record of 29,446 TEUs recorded in March 2021.
Compared to last year, the volumes handled by the container terminal in July saw an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2022. This substantial increase testifies to TC’s greater capacity to meet the market’s growing demands efficiently and effectively.
In the General Cargo Terminal, there was an overall growth of 9%, despite a drop in monthly volume, which totalled 198,934 tons compared to previous months.
Last year, the Port of Beira was classified by the World Bank as the best in Southern Africa in terms of containerized cargo performance, which puts the Container Terminal in the region’s spotlight. We extend our congratulations to everyone at the Port of Beira for their hard work and dedication.
