We have all seen the heart-breaking images from the devastating earthquakes in Turkey (Türkiye) and Syria. The human toll is immeasurable, and the eventual road to recovery will be exceptionally long. According to the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee), more than 36,000 people have died so far and many thousands are injured and still missing in Turkey and Syria, with numbers expected to rise further.
Rescuers warn time is running out to find survivors amid freezing cold conditions, with 17 million people in affected areas, many of whom are in urgent need of shelter, food, and medical aid.

Doctors Without Borders – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is also working in northwest Syria and Turkey to provide life-saving medical care.
