Nectar Sierra Leone Bulk Terminal, in the port of Freetown, recently welcomed the M/V Captain Panagis on its maiden call to the city.
The vessel, a bulk carrier with a length of 199m docked at the port on the 18th of September amidst a flurry of activity and marked a significant event for both the port, NSBT and the ship’s crew.
The arrival of the M/V Captain Panagis signals the ongoing development and importance of NSBT in Freetown as a key trading hub in Sierra Leone.
Carrying cargo of bagged rice, the vessel’s visit is expected to contribute positively to the local economy. The NSBT team have now completed discharging 13,000mt.
The occasion was marked with a welcome reception and plaque presentation to the captain of M/V Captain Panagis by NSBT General Manager, Siamba Kamara and Nectar Group’s Chief Executive Officer, James Luther. The M/V Captain Panagis’ maiden call represents not just a single voyage, but also the strengthening trade ties and growing prominence of Freetown on the international maritime map.
