At Nectar Group Ltd, we understand every terminal requires a unique approach. In Nectar’s terminal management projects, we tailor the design in line with location-specific environmental and international health and safety requirements. Our policy of positioning local offices to manage port projects enables full control and management of operations, ensuring we can continue to remain agile and responsive in even the most difficult locations.
At Nectar’s Coal Handling Terminal Beira in Mozambique, we identified a need for a re-design of the ship loaders on the quayside after considerable storm damage experienced as a result of Cyclone Idai in 2019. Two storm anchoring towers were designed by Nectar’s on site technical team and installed for each ship loader, the ship loaders are then secured to each tower and the ground on 40mt concrete bases. Recently, the terminal has weathered another cyclone and tropical storm without any damage to the ship unloaders.
How do you uniquely manage and design your terminals? Have you had to adapt to environmental factors outside of your control? What are the biggest environmental threats to your assets?
Let’s start a conversation and discuss how we individually tailor our approach to terminal management projects.
