Nectar Group and Nectar Mozambique are pleased to reshare that the Port of Beira (Cornelder de Moçambique, S.A.) has achieved new success with historic volumes.
The General Cargo Terminal reached a historic milestone in July by handling a record monthly volume of 442,000 tons, compared to 199,000 tons in July 2023, marking a 122% increase.
This substantial growth was driven by increased imports of clinker and maize for domestic usage and a significant rise in wheat, equipment, and sulfur imports for regional countries.
There was notable geographical diversification in exports, with contributions from three surrounding countries, including the export of local eucalyptus and Zambian manganese. Zimbabwe continues to lead the export market through the Port of Beira. The cargo terminal has seen record volumes with an increase of 24% over the first seven months of the year, compared to the same period in 2023.
Congratulations to everyone involved. A wonderful triumph fuelled by sheer determination, dedication and teamwork.
