Cyclone Idai Crisis Relief Appeal

Help us raise $US 100,000.

Crisis Relief Appeal

Cyclone Idai swept through Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe on the 14th/15th March 2019. It has left behind a trail of destruction affecting an estimated 2.6 million people.

Nectar Group has been working in Beira, Mozambique for over 30 years, a location that has now become the victim of one of the worst weather-related disasters on record in the southern hemisphere.

Key infrastructure along with houses, roads, schools have all been ripped apart. What was prime agricultural land has been completely submerged.

It is estimated that over 400,000 people have lost their homes. This is disaster on an unprecedented scale.
Nectar Group is working closely with national partners and authorities to support the immediate aftermath and has already donated US$100,000 in funding as an immediate response.

We are setting up a further fund to help with projects such as the rebuilding of homes for local residents, schools and local health facilities in Beira as people start to rebuild their communities.

Our aim is to raise an additional US$100,000 and therefore we are appealing to our clients, suppliers, service providers and the wider shipping community to ask for your support to assist Nectar with this initiative and to donate to our Mozambique Crisis Relief Appeal.

We thank you in advance for your generosity.
