Latest Port Developments from NSBT

Nectar Group and NSBT are pleased to share recent photos from Guy Wilkes’s (Director) visit to the port, including the new 3rd berth programme and discharging operations.

Nectar Group and NSBT are pleased to announce the opening of a new 3rd berth later this year.

The berth is a critical piece of infrastructure which will facilitate a larger class of vessel size to call at the Freetown terminal, accommodating vessels of 225 meters and 11.5 meters operational draft.

The Port of Freetown is the principal commercial port in Sierra Leone and is the most important entry gate for trade and commerce in the country.

NSBT is responsible for all bulk & break bulk operations including project cargo from unloading vessels to storing cargo in the port’s extensive warehousing facilities.

In addition to the recent port expansion program, NSBT offers enhanced port and facility security, international best practices, maintenance and skilled personnel.

The terminal’s commitment to investing in infrastructure, comprehensive training programmes, and efficient port services has proven to be instrumental in attracting renowned global players. The 3rd berth’s capacity to accommodate large vessels opens new avenues for trade, strengthens the logistics network, and propels Sierra Leone’s economic growth.

Thank you to Siamba Kamara (General Manager) and Abubakarr Jah Dumbuya (Head of Operations).
