Record breaking day for Nectar in Mozambique
Nectar has proven once again that it has what it takes to raise expectations around the world by breaking a new record in Beira, Mozambique.
Nectar is well known globally for its operational efficiencies and innovation in all areas of dry bulk commodity handling. Since 2012 the Group has operated and maintained the 5 million ton per annum TCC8 coal terminal in Beira, Mozambique. Shortly after taking over the operation in 2013, Nectar received the International Bulk Journal Award for ‘Best Specialist Dry Bulk Port’ helping cement Nectar’s position as a market leader in this field. Recently on the 22nd of June 2015, Nectar proved this once again by achieving both a port and Company record loading an incredible 15,411.00 Metric Tonnes of coal onto a vessel in a single 8 hour shift. This resulted in the vessel being turned around in less than 24 hours providing huge cost savings to all involved parties. Nectar Operations Director, Mr Han Ozturk, stated ‘once again Nectar’s team in Mozambique have excelled themselves and the achievement stands as testament to Nectar’s drive to constantly improve productivity and provide clients with the very best service possible.’ Adding ‘the next step is now to review the operation, learn from the success and work towards making these speeds possible all the time.’
