Career Opportunity – Commercial Executive (Business Development)

Nectar Group has a new opportunity for a Commercial & Business Development Executive to join our global company. This is a fantastic career move for the right candidate with the prospect to travel (up to 50% of the time) across our worldwide locations with our Head Office located in Romford, Essex (only 20 mins on the train from London Liverpool Street).

At Nectar Group, we are always on the lookout for top talent with experience in terminal management, port operations, dry bulk handling, equipment sales and maritime logistics.

The Commercial Executive – Business Development is the focal point for our clients (both existing and new) as they utilise our ports and terminals with particular emphasis on Sierra Leone, Africa and our Worldwide Bagging and Equipment sales division. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the research and development of markets, and identification of areas of opportunity for growth, including new customer base, partnerships, services, and equipment. This role will also include leading the development and capturing new business throughout the Group following our corporate strategy, company policies, processes, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years in sales or account managerial roles 
  • Educated to degree level or minimum (at least 5 GCSE -‘O’ level)
  • Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) or similar qualification or experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in the shipping/port industry.
  • Willingness to travel and work internationally.
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to multitask, manage workloads and prioritize with high attention to detail.
