NSBT is pleased to promote Siamba Kamara to General Manager

Experienced operations specialist Siamba Kamara has been with NSBT since the port opened in 2015 and has worked extensively in the port management, logistics, and dry bulk industries. NSBT is pleased to appoint Siamba as the new General Manager at NSBT in Freetown.  Siamba has been carrying out her duties as Acting GM since December 2023 and previously held the position of Finance Manager/Deputy General Manager.

Nectar Group, Commercial Director, Guy Wilkes commented:

“Siamba has been with NSBT since day one. She brings local knowledge and experience which is hugely beneficial when driving the future strategic direction of NSBT operations, particularly considering the investment that has been made in the construction of the additional berth. Siamba’s desire to develop people, build a team culture and work sustainably enables NSBT to grow the terminal operations and customer services and develop new clients, whilst embracing change as we modernise to support the long-term future of the terminal.”

Siamba continues to be responsible for the effective management of the NSBT terminal in Freetown in line with responsibilities as set out under the concession agreement with the Sierra Leone Ports Authorities and following the strategic objectives of Nectar Group.

Siamba commented she is excited about taking on the GM role at NSBT.

“It is an honour and great pleasure to serve in the capacity of General Manager for an Organization that I have been part of since its inception. With a shared vision, effective collaboration, and unswerving determination, I pledge, together with my Team, to build a great future for NSBT.

This appointment is not only an achievement for me as a woman but for all Professional Women in Sierra Leone and validates NSBT’s support for Gender Inclusion in the workplace. I thank Nectar Group’s Board of Directors for the trust and confidence placed in me to drive NSBT business forward.”

Siamba has a dynamic working relationship with her team and continues to develop NSBT into a world-class service provider for bulk and break-bulk operations. We are confident Siamba will accelerate the excellent work underway at NSBT.

Join us in congratulating Siamba on her new appointment as GM.

In addition, Siamba has been a part of the major 3rd berth expansion programme which promotes the country’s aims and vision to advance the local economy into a major logistical hub for imports and exports in West Africa. The new berth is set to launch in the next few months.
