Career Opportunity – Commercial Executive (London-based role with African Experience)

New exciting role at Nectar Group. Nectar Group has a new opportunity for a Commercial Executive to join our global company and to support and develop new revenue streams for Nectar’s fleet of Bulk Handling Equipment.

This is a fantastic career move for the right candidate who has African experience with the prospect of traveling across our worldwide locations with our Head Office located in Romford, Essex (only 20 mins on the train from London Liverpool Street). This role is London-based.

At Nectar Group, we are always on the lookout for top talent with experience in terminal management, port operations, dry bulk handling, equipment sales and maritime logistics.

The Commercial Executive is the focal point for our clients (both existing and new) as they utilise our ports and terminals with particular emphasis on African locations, our Worldwide Bagging and Equipment sales division and existing client relationships. 

The key responsibilities of this role include generating new business, expanding our existing customer base and revenue, by actively seeking new business in existing markets and locations, and exploring new markets and locations for our services. Our commercial executives promote and develop sales and other commercial-related activities to increase sales growth, profitability and market share within the Bulk Handling and Bagging business stream and assist with growing our activities worldwide.

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing customer relationships on a long-term basis through Key Account Management and regular client visits. 

Establishing and maintaining a regular cycle of contact with new and existing clients building long-term essential relationships for the Group. This role involves significant international travel to developing countries. 

Essential Skills: 

  • Proven track record in completing sales in a service environment.
  • Ideally educated to degree level, applicants must have at least 5 GCSEs (‘O’ level), including a minimum grade C or 4 in Mathematics and English Language.
  • Experience in African markets
  • Proven experience in the shipping industry or related industries.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years in sales or account managerial roles 
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Willingness, interest and availability to travel and work internationally
