NSBT (Nectar Sierra Leone Bulk Terminal) is proud to support education and community development in Cline Town and Kanikay through its 2026 Community Development Action Plan (CDAP).
The “Support to Education through Supplying Basic School Items to Less Privileged School Children” initiative provided essential learning materials, including school bags, exercise books, pens and geometry sets to 230 primary and secondary school pupils from families facing financial barriers.
The project’s objective was to strengthen pupils’ learning capacity, encourage school attendance and participation, and reinforce the importance of education among parents and the wider community.
The distribution ceremony took place on 22 August 2026 at the Kanikay Community Centre, ahead of the new school year. It brought together pupils and parents alongside the Kanikay CDAP Committee, community and religious leaders, local stakeholders, political representatives, the Honourable Member of Parliament and members of the Fourth Estate.
NSBT works closely with the communities around its operations to develop inclusive, community-led programmes that respond to local needs and create meaningful, long-term value. NSBT’s HSE Manager, Assistant HR Manager and HSE Supervisor for Community Affairs joined community representatives to support the distribution, helping to ensure that essential school supplies reached pupils who would benefit from them most.
