A grab works hard. Every cargo cycle means abrasion, impact, salt and moisture, and over time that takes its toll on even the toughest equipment.
Our Nectar Mozambique team carries out full maintenance and refurbishment of port grabs and other port equipment, restoring this vital equipment to safe, reliable service and extending its working life.
Our grab maintenance includes;
- Inspection and condition assessment, including wear checks on shells, cutting edges, pins and bushes
- Descaling and surface preparation, removing cargo residue, rust and old coatings to leave a clean, sound surface
- Repairs, including weld repairs, replacement of worn cutting edges and wear plates, and pin, bush and hydraulic component overhaul
- Repainting with a protective marine-grade coating system to guard against corrosion in harsh port environment
- Testing and handover, with functional checks and a full record of the work completed
- Proper maintenance means fewer breakdowns, safer lifting operations and less unplanned downtime, helping keep cargo moving through the port.
