A wonderful recognition from the business world for the role of Port Ostend in the Blue Economy – one of its spearhead pillars – and a valued appreciation for the commitment and passion of all employees to create value together. Belgian Offshore Cluster vzw is a wide, independent, and industrial platform which maintains the relationships between the offshore energy sector, governments and international organisations.  Actively encouraging networking and export for Belgian companies active in offshore energy.

Blue Economy at Port Oostende
The development and maintenance of wind farms at sea (offshore wind) is currently the most important part of the Blue Economy. Developments in wave and tidal energy, aquaculture, maritime connections and coastal protection are also part of the Blue Economy.

Oostende presents itself as the offshore wind hub for the southern part of the North Sea. Many offshore wind projects have already been realized from the REBO heavy weight terminal. Every wind farm in the Belgian part of the North Sea is maintained from Oostende.

Nectar Group is honoured to be partnering with Port Oostende and are fully committed to supporting and promoting new technologies and sustainability, as we jointly drive innovation in our industry. Congratulations to the entire team at Port Oostende.

Dirk Declerck (CEO Port Oostende), Christophe Dhaene (President of Belgian Offshore Cluster)
