Title: Commercial Executive

Purpose
- Developing new revenue streams for Nectar’s fleet of Bulk Handling Equipment
- Maintain existing relationships by assisting in managing Nectar’s commercial activities for the Bulk handling and bagging business team
Areas of Responsibility
- Promote sales and other commercial related activities to increase sales growth profitability and market share within the Bulk Handling and Bagging business stream and assist with growing our activities worldwide
- Expand the customer base by actively seeking out new markets and locations for our services
- Maintain and develop existing customer relationships on a long-term basis through Key Account Management and regular client visits. Establish and maintain a regular cycle of contact with new and existing clients, building long term relationships with the group
- Significant international travel to developing countries
- Provide cover and assistance for other commercial staff where required
- Identify, where possible, the development of strategic alliances with key clients and third parties
- Ensure that accurate records are maintained as to sales visits / potential customers / competition activity and maintain the CRM system
- Liaise with General Manager on Pricing Policy & Terms and Conditions. Conduct rate and contract negotiations with clients (with the approval of GM/COO) to establish contract and attain best possible margins
- Support initial enquiries for the sale of bulk handling equipment before passing over the Sales Engineer
- Providing details and information of activities to the group marketing team as required
- Assist GM with preparation of monthly reports for management when required
- Work alongside the accounts department to ensure clients payment terms are adhered to and followed up where necessary
- Work closely with operations team and update accordingly in respect of contract terms, vessel information and other vital information
- Gain a full understanding of the operational teams’ roles and responsibilities in order to support quick decision making in pressurized situations
- Be prepared to attend relevant training courses and to further develop knowledge & skills
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience or training
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally educated to degree level but as a minimum, applicants must have at least 5 GCSE (or O Levels) at standard, including a minimum grade C or 4 in Mathematics and English language
- Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) or similar qualification or experience preferred
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years in sales or account managerial roles

- Good grammatical and numerical skills

- Able to work using own initiative when necessary

Experience (Preferred, but not essential)
- Exposure to other cultures in either personal or professional capacity
- Experience in the shipping industry
- Exposure to CRM
- Familiar with developing markets
